A visit to the Georges Labit Museum also gives you the chance to discover the exotic garden surrounding the Neo-Moorish building that houses the city's Asian and Egyptian collections. Opened in October 2001, the garden exhibits nearly a dozen varieties of bamboo and palm trees. A banana tree and some very rare Australian plants are also to be found in the garden.
You can also see an aloe (South Africa), an orchid tree and a variety of palm tree from New Zealand. On the corner of rue du Japon and rue des Martyrs de la Résistance, azaleas, bamboo and an unusual arborescent fern (Korea) are particularly reminiscent of Asian vegetation.
