The Violet Festival
Every year, the Violet Festival is organised by the Council in February, during the flowering period of this highly scented little mauve flower.
Violets are the emblem of Toulouse and were grown by market gardeners to the north of the city from the 19th Century. A few growers still grow them today. "La Violette de Toulouse" is a registered trademark that comes in all forms (sweets, perfume, liqueur,) and offers an excellent excuse for a party and an exploration of Toulouse, the city of violets!
