The gastronomic Olympics
Restaurants in Toulouse and the surrounding area invited the public
to come and eat and vote as part of the Lucien Vanel Prize event.
The public has now chosen the winners of the following three prizes: the Gastronomic/Refined Cuisine Prize, the Gourmet/Traditional Cuisine Prize and the Brasserie/Bistro Cuisine Prize.
Alongside the awards voted for by the public, 5 awards were given by an “Academy” made up of independent members: the 2008 Prize, the Special Creativity Prize, the Year’s Brightest New Talent Prize, the Conviviality Prize and the Best Wine List in the South-West Prize.
The Lucien Vanel Prize was launched in “La Ville Rose” on 15th February and was a great success, with more than 90 restaurants taking part and over 7,000 public votes cast. Voting closed on 31st May and the awards ceremony took place on 23rd June in Médiathèque José Cabanis.
