adresse The Clary mansion

Hôtel de pierre
25 rue de la Dalbade - 31000 TOULOUSE

The Clary or de Bagis mansion also known as Hôtel de Pierre Jean de Bagis, the Parlement's President of Petitions, was responsible for the original construction of this fine mansion, built in three stages in the XVIth, XVIIth and XIXth centuries. The XVIth century saw the building of the over-all structure, the courtyard and the stone façade richly decorated with sculptures signed by the architect and sculptor Nicolas Bachelier, the creator of numerous works in Toulouse. François de Clari gave the façade its stonework and earned it its alternative name of oustal de peiro, house of stone.
