The visitor to this museum in the lovely old Hôtel de Besson (mansion) will feel as if he or she is in an elegant mansion.
The "Cabinet des Objets d'Art" is divided into several sections: gold pieces, pottery, glass, ironwork, textiles (from the sumptuous facings of the XIVth century Cordeliers to the clothing of ordinary people and the bourgeoisie, furniture (a careful reconstruction of a Jesuit pharmacy), wood carvings and the remarkable collection of Edouard Gélis clocks and watches known all over the world, as well as a rare collection of weaponry and musical instruments.
We should also mention the "cabinets" devoted to meteorology, coins and seals. The "cabinet" of graphic arts (drawings, engraving and posters) is particularly well endowed with works by artists from Toulouse and Languedoc.

> Musical Interludes
Every last Sunday in the month at 3.00 pm, the museum offers a concert of classical songs. For about an hour, soloists, usually accompanied by the piano, will sing a varied French and European repertoire from the Renaissance to the 20th Century, echoing the museum's collections. Visitors, their families and friends can combine the pleasures of listening and looking to see Toulouse's decorative art collections in a different light. Entry to the concert gives free access to the museum's permanent collections.
