This exhibition aims to one of remembrance as a tribute to the artists who had to leave their country in 1939 due to a particularly difficult political situation and who developed a special relationship with Toulouse, a real capital of exile.

There are over 100 works in total, including 73 paintings and drawings and a wonderful series of 30 sculptures produced in a wide variety of materials: bronze, marble, limestone, granite, tropical wood, cement, cork and wrought iron, loaned by the artists themselves, their descendants, various museums, galleries or collectors.

Together they form a real retrospective of the work of artists in exile during the 2nd half of the last century.
