Spanish artists in exile

This exhibition aims to one of remembrance as a tribute to the artists who had to leave their country in 1939 due to a particularly difficult political situation and who developed a special relationship with Toulouse, a real capital of exile.
26 painters and sculptors are represented: Pierre Daura, Appel.les Fenosa, Hilarion Brugarolas, Antoni Clavell father and son, Manuel Camps Vicens, Josep Moselle, Baltasar Lobo, Joaquim Vicens-Gironella, Antonio Alos, Francisco Bajen and Martine Vega, Antoni Clavé, Virgilio Vallmajo, Josep Suau, Francisco Forcadell-Prat, Orlando Pelayo, Musté Ponti, Antoni Tapies, José Subira-Puig, Arthur Saura, Joan Jorda, Carlos Pradal, Rodolf Fauria-Gort, Concha Benedito, Vassallo Blasco and Antoine Rivero.
There are over 100 works in total, including 73 paintings and drawings and a wonderful series of 30 sculptures produced in a wide variety of materials: bronze, marble, limestone, granite, tropical wood, cement, cork and wrought iron, loaned by the artists themselves, their descendants, various museums, galleries or collectors.
Together they form a real retrospective of the work of artists in exile during the 2nd half of the last century.
