Made in Asia
(from 26 January to 14 February 2010)

Although Toulouse is a Southern capital, a Latin city and the departure gate for an epic adventure with Africa and South America, it cannot shut its eyes to the Asian world, a key player on the world's geopolitical, economic and cultural scene in the 21st Century.
For the third time, from 26 January to 14 February 2010, MADE IN ASIA offers a meeting with the Asian continent that is unique in France. Thirty cultural partners from the Toulouse conurbation will be sharing over 80 performances, readings, exhibitions, talks, films, culinary events and cultural workshops with the public.
Every year, the exclusive presence of artists and specialists who have travelled specially to Toulouse helps us gain an insight into the great Asian adventure and a better understanding of the upheavals of today in the light of history. Through this dialogue between cultures, we set off on a search for those things that bind our continents together and provide us with mutual enrichment.
An Asian village will be set up in the Place du Capitole. Here, you'll observe the way of life of Mongol nomads, with a visit to a traditional yurt and the presentation of everyday objects, arts and crafts.
And don't miss the Chinese Parade, with the dragon and unicorn dances.
