adresse The Japanese Garden

Boulevard Lascrosses - 31000 TOULOUSE
Tel : 05 62 27 48 48
Transporting you to the orient, this park is just a stone's throw away from Toulouse's administrative centre and the Pierre Baudis conference centre. Surprisingly exotic, it is a lovers' paradise and an excellent environment for meditation and rest. The tea pavilion and oriental plants are sure to have you daydreaming of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Toulouse's Japanese garden is a fusion of existing Japanese gardens and the gardens of Kyoto built between the 14th and 16th centuries, during the Muromachi and Edo period. All the typical features of a Japanese garden can also be seen, including a representation of the mineral world, the plant world and the aquatic world, as well as the typical decorative elements such as a surrounding wall, a Zen garden, bridges, lanterns and a teahouse in the centre of the garden, based upon the teahouse in the gardens of the Katsura Palace (17th century, south-west of Kyoto).
